Our dear government has just brought in a rule that when you apply for University, you have to declare what level of education your parents reached and what job(s) they do. The idea is that if your parents are uneducated ignoramuses who work in dead-end jobs or not at all, your application will be given preference over applications by people whose parents are educated and have good jobs, even if your exam results are far worse than theirs are.
