Michael Lopp, senior engineering manager at Apple, spoke at SXSW. I missed his talk, but here is an article from Helen Walters on what he said about Apple's design process . Among other things, Michael said: 10 to 3 to 1 Apple designers come up with 10 entirely different mock ups of any new feature.
