I realised that I didn't have a clock in the lab, unless you count the ones on the PC screens, which of course disappear as soon as the screen saver starts up. So I brought my old LED clock out of retirement, and it works fine. It has a nice red seven-segment LED display to match the other instruments, too. I built it in the 1970s from a kit supplied by Maplin's and my father made a metal and wood case for it.
